allthingsalishan: jessicalindsey: Received my Tumblr Secret Santa gifts today from Elle!  Thank you! :) I’m sitting here listening to my Christmas mix and enjoying all my gifts, including hand-made pins: Earrings: Bookplates and a bookmark: Hand-illustrated notepad: and the cutest notecards that I’v ever seen!: I’m so excited! My Christmas season has been extended! This gives me hope! Yay, I got so happy when I saw this on my dashboard tonight :) There have been a few people who have come forward offering to be foster secret santas for those of you who didn’t get a present (tsk tsk to the bad secret santas out there). I have read all the emails and am still planning on organizing it, I just haven’t had time to deal with it the past few weeks!! But I will email those of you who have contacted me when I figure out how I’m gonna make it work :) And for everyone…don’t lose all hope…apparently gifts are still rollin’ in!

I’m not going to lie, because I didn’t get one, it’s been making me not care about sending mine out.  Granted I’m broke so that is also helping with the whole not sending it out.  I even took the time (a lot of time) to make a fancy card.

bakeurfaceoff - by not sending yours out…you are continuing the cycle of disappointed people :( i’m sorry you didn’t receive your gift yet, but that’s not your giftee’s fault, and it’s not really fair to ruin your draw’s experience just because your secret santa fell through!! the main point of this is to experience the joy of giving…so…ya know…give them your fancy card! i’m sure they will love it :)

For the most part, it looks like the first Tumblr Secret Santa Exchange was a huge success! I got lots of happy emails from people who had a great time participating, and I’m so glad you all had a good time with it :)

However, I’m still getting some emails from people who are bummed because they haven’t received a gift yet. This makes me so sad!

If you signed up for the secret santa project, then you committed to sending someone a gift…and you should do it. At the very (VERY) least, send an email to your secret santa person telling them what’s going on. If you absolutely can’t spend ANY money, how about making a mix tape and emailing it to them?

Since so much time has elapsed since the exchange date, it looks like elfster has “resolved” the exchange or whatever, meaning I am no longer able to look up who drew whom. I’m going to email the guy who runs elfster to see if there is a way I can go back and check out who some people’s secret santas were, because I feel terrible that they missed out on the fun.

For the time being, sit tight and I’ll work on a solution for what to do for the people who didn’t receive anything. And try to remember that the real fun of this was giving a sweet gift to someone and making their Christmas brighter…so if you sent your gift, you got to participate the best part, and your lame secret santa missed out! And hopefully they will realize their mistake and rectify it soon :)

pourquoi-pas: My awesome Tumblr Secret Santa gift arrived!!!!! I was in France during the elections so I asked my TSS for “anything Obama” and it’s so much cooler that my TSS comes from Chicago. I used to work with unions when I lived in the US, so the Steelworkers pin means more than just a regular ol’ O pin. Thanks so very much and a super duper New Year to you!!! I guess it would have gone over the $5 limit to ship the actual Obama…but those stickers are an awesome substitute! Nice work, Lola’s secret santa! :)
